Who Wants Cupcakes!!!

Jessica and I are so excited to announce that Confetti Cupcakery is officially open for business this weekend! Come join us this Sunday at the Downtown Orlando Farmer's Market at beautiful Lake Eola from 10-4 (or until we run out of cupcakes!)

These aren't your grocery store box cupcakes...we use only the highest quality, freshest ingredients including real Tahitian vanilla pods, organic sweet cream butter, and gourmet confectioners chocolate. Everything is made by hand and baked with love!

While all the credit for the delicious creations goes to Jessica, I did have the strenuous job of being the official taste-tester...and I can guarantee that they are all fantastic!

We'll have a drawing for a dozen free cupcakes delivered to your home or office, and you can pick up more information about custom orders for any event! Cupcakes are perfect for weddings, showers, corporate events, birthdays, or just because!

So bring your appetite and come say hello! Can't wait to see you all -

Katie & Jonathan's (adventurous) Wedding!

What can I say about Katie & Jonathan's wedding...how much time do we have? It's probably written down somewhere that having so much fun at work is illegal...but never the less we had an awesome time hanging out with them all day!

From the (seriously) massive thunderstorm that unleashed during their ceremony, to cruising around downtown Celebration in a golf cart, to being sprayed by a fountain (yep it happened...) adventurous barely scratches the surface!

What was really amazing for Jess and I though was just Katie & Jonathan's positive energy all day long...how many couples would have moped grudgingly about moving their wedding indoors because of weather...or made their guests wait hours for the rain to pass? Despite the crazy weather nothing could slow them down, and they certainly kept us on our toes all day trying to keep up with them :)

On to the images!

Katie was a rockstar getting ready:

This little guy was working it for the camera:

Meanwhile Jonathan was kicking it old school on the playground:

A flying dismount here would have been nice, but you gotta keep the tux clean!

About 2 minutes before the downpour:

Ceremony:

Just married!

The rain couldn't stop us:

So after the storms passed we got to cruise around in an electric vehicle, Jess kept it on the road most of time ;)

Katie and Jonathan got engaged right in front of the lake in downtown Celebration...and re-creating the scene was a very serious and dramatic event :-P

Just in time for 4th of July:

After I walked through the fountain we headed to a smaller (and less dangerous) one!

After the rain left we really had some beautiful light to play with:

More fun on the golf cart:

Katie's flowers were very well done:

Jonathan decided to show Katie the finer points of golf technique:

But then a fight broke out:

Which was stopped just in time for this amazing sunset:

Did I mention they were so serious and stiff that getting them to relax was difficult :)

And of course sparklers and fun pictures go hand in hand!

Congratulations Katie and Jonathan! Hope you are having a wonderful time on your cruise, and we'll see you when you get back :)

Best,

Chris & Jess

Aimee & Brian's Fabulous Wedding!

When we first met Aimee & Brian several months ago, we knew instantly that their wedding was going to be amazing, and it certainly did not disappoint! Getting married outside in Florida - especially during the summer can be somewhat of a gamble as far as rain is concerned...so needless to say we were worried by the 70% chance of rain called for that day!!!

Just as we're packing up the car getting ready to head out...it starts pouring!!! Thunder, lightning, wind...the whole package. But the most amazing thing happened on the drive there: the clouds just parted and the sun came out in full force! Jess and I kind of exchanged nervous glances, thinking, "Is this gonna hold out all afternoon?" and amazingly enough it did!

Their wedding day was, like Aimee-- beautiful, relaxed, and personal. They both have the most amazing group of family and friends, and to say we had fun hanging out with them all day would be a massive understatement.

Here are just a few of our favorite images from their day :)

The dress had quite a saga in arriving -- but turned out beautiful:

With a great pair of shoes to match:

Aimee's family helping with the dress:

Aimee was a stunning bride:

I love the emotions here:

Aimee's sister was her maid of honor, and did an amazing job singing during the ceremony:

Walking down the aisle:

No rain in sight:

Married!:

Who says formals have to be boring?:

Couldn't have asked for better weather (except maybe a bit cooler :) -

Can't go wrong with tulips:

Having fun right after the ceremony:

We had some amazing light to shoot with right before sunset:

Congratulations Aimee & Brian -- hope to hang out again with you both soon!

Referral Thank You!

Happy Monday Everyone :-)

Referrals from previous clients are such a huge part of our business, and there really is no greater compliment than when we work hard enough to earn your recommendation to friends and family!

Jess and I are so grateful that we wanted to think of a way to say THANK YOU for all the referral business...so I'm very excited to introduce our new referral program!

It's very simple, and here's how it works:

For each referral wedding or portrait shoot we book from now until the end of the year you'll receive:

1- A $100 print credit good towards any product we offer
2- A 16x20 gallery canvas from your event
3- One custom-framed fine art print from your event
5+ A $750 album credit

It's that easy :-) Make sure you tell the couple to mention that you referred them!

So a big thank you again, and keep the referrals coming! Have a fantastic week!

Best,

Chris&Jess

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Any holiday celebrated with good food + drinks is always a favorite of ours! A lot of people think Cinco de Mayo is the Mexican independence day (which happens to be September 16th) but it actually celebrates the victory of Mexican troops over the French at the Battle of Puebla, which took place May 5th, 1862. There's some random trivia for ya!

For Jess and I though, Cinco de Mayo is a good excuse to make some killer Mexican food + margaritas. Some of the best margarita mix we have found is from Williams&Sonoma, and can be found here. It's made with agave nectar, and comes with some really cool infusions like kiwi, cucumber and Velvet Falernum liqueur. Definitely check that out!

We actually ended up cooking all day yesterday since we'd have more time than today. Southwestern cuisine is so bold and vibrant, definitely some of our favorite things to eat! All the recipes are from Bobby Flay's newest cookbook, which I highly recommend! On to the food:

Goat Cheese Queso Fundido with rajas + blue corn tortilla chips...not your average chips and dip! The individual cast iron skillets are from Crate&Barrel

Shrimp and corn tamale with roasted garlic sauce...nothing beats a homemade tamale!

Cornmeal crusted Chile Relleno, stuffed with roasted eggplant + manchego cheese, roasted red pepper + balsamic sauces. Heaven on a plate!

Jess is a dessert diva, and made a fabulous cupcake to fit with the holiday. These are Aztec-spiced chocolate cupcakes: a bittersweet chocolate cake made with 70% cacao and laced with Ancho, Chipotle, and Chile de Arbol powders, dipped in dark chocolate ganache flavored with cinnamon + nutmeg, and topped with a rich chocolate cream cheese icing...YUM!

She has some crazy skills with a pastry bag...

The finished product...mine don't look this good

Did you know that cupcakes make great wedding favors, cakes, gifts, snacks.....Hmmmmm......exciting news coming soon!!!

Have a great Cinco de Mayo, and enjoy some great food + drinks!

:)
